Dana and Kevin's Wedding

The wedding was pure Stuart. It was family party time. The day was rainy,
intermittent but Dana made up her mind that the ceremony was to be outside,
and darned if they didn't wipe off the white outdoor chairs and the rain,
drizzle stopped long enough for the ceremony to be completed. He stopped
about a third of the way down and gave her a fatherly talk, then gave her
to Kevin. At the reception, Stu had been saying to Kevin that the only
dowry Dana would have was a goat and a couple chickens. Well, Stu ate the
chickens, but the goat showed up at the reception. It had curved horns but
was the friendliest little thing, the kids all hugged it, hung on, and
loved it to pieces. A friend of Stu's raises goats.
The music was LOUD and Stu played quite a few sets. Tyler sang to Ring of
Fire, Johnny Cash. Ronda said a beautiful grace while all of us held hands.
Before the evening was over, Tyler was barefoot, rolled up his pantlegs and
was lying on the floor. Guess he had a good time. He was the ring bearer
and carried a bear that Jane had sent to Ronda when Dana was born. Ronda
saved the letters Jane had written, they were both pregnant at the same time.
Don Jr, Carla and we stayed at the same motel, rooms next to each other.
Sunday morning the kids swam, we drank coffee, visited, Don and I went to
church and then Stu's, the others went to Bay Beach an amusement park with
cheap rides. Stu's house was full of relatives, Dana and Kevin opened
gifts, not your sunflower, it was in the garden already. First thing when
she got it. Our kettles either, she had used the giant one for the crowd.
We ate leftovers from the reception and lots of other stuff and we drove home.
A wonderful time.
Love, Mom
