Out My Window

Archived Poetry

zoo across the street
cement elephants to climb
a rhinoceros too

monkey house
gibbons trapeze artists
whooping and flying

paths to bear cages
a real elephant
a white tiger

wolves tunneled out
scaring the whole city
came back next night

peacocks on our roof
too noisy   children
send them away

pond with lighted fountain
sprays orange arcs skyward
each night till bedtime

dreams of paradise
not needed
we are there
