To get the full experience of the Christo and Jeanne-Claude installation, Patty and I walked the length of Central Park from 59th to 110th streets. I am not sure how far that is, but we figured it is about 3 to 4 miles. The paths in the park are lined with 7,000 metal "gates" from which 1.1 miles of fabric is hung. That's pretty impressive when you are from Wisconsin. Actually, it is pretty impressive period.

The saffron color brightens the otherwise plain winter landscape and adds an unexpected element of fun to the park. Thousands of people like us were just wandering down the paths with smiles.
